Ligress Defeats Requiem

This afternoon Ligress, formerly of Elite Force, arrested Requiem of the Council. Requiem, formerly Ridolfo Uzzano, has come a long way from his humble beginning as one of Mussolini's lapdogs. The primary cause of his success was his fusion with a Nictus, a being of utter darkness. The Nictus gave Ridolfo the ability to scorch his foes with an infernal fire. Though he is now over 100 years old, Requiem remains a fearsome foe in battle. Requiem ruled over the massive military organization the 5th Column which was subsumed by the Council. His closest attendents suspect that Requiem is still smarting from his loss of power, and plotting his revenge.

Sunstroke Awarded 300th Badge

Sunstroke banded together with nearly one hundred of Paragon City's greatest heroes to conduct what is commonly refered to as a "Hami Raid". Hamidon is the nucleus of a giant single celled organism, spawned from some twisted primordial soup. It has one instinct, to Devour the Earth and all that infests it. During the raid Sunstroke was awarded his 300th badge, Doctor, which is given out for healing other heroes. The first picture shown is of Hamidon in the "Hive" which is the area that he normaly appears. The second is a comparison showning Hamidon's size versus other known creatures the heroes of Paragon City have faced. A Hami Raid is a coordinated and complex attack apon one of the most dangerous creatures known to man. The details on how a Hami Raid works can be found at this link: http://paragonwiki.com/index.php?title=Hamidon

The Eternal Nemesis

It all began when records captured by Elite Force alumn Ligress led to a connection between Lockhart Aerotech and the Nemesis Army. Ligress raided a storehouse full of ammunition made by Lockhart for the Nemesis Army, and found the location of a lab where Lockhart had helped Nemesis test his latest alloys against military weapons. She delivered all of the evidence, and waited to hear the verdict in the Lockhart trial.

When the guilty verdict came down on Tyrone Lockhart, he bolted and tried to protect himself with Nemesis Army troops but Ligress was still able to catch him.

Using files taken from Lockhart Aerotech, she found out that Nemesis often used the Sky Raiders to do work for him by having Lockhart Aerotech ask them to. One such incident was the recent abduction of an immortal man named Bentley Berkeley for reasons unknown. Ligress squeezed the Raiders for information, but by the time she arrived where they had been told to drop Berkeley off, he had already been moved.

Ligress then went to rescue Bentley Berkeley, but found herself in the middle of a battle between Nemesis and the Council, who wanted revenge on Berkeley for helping to foil one of their plans. When she freed him, Bentley told her that Nemesis' scientists had wanted to compare his version of immortality to their own plans to make a person live forever.

The tensions between the Nemesis Army and the Council erupted into battle as both sides took to the streets. Ligress managed to handle the situation, and one of the defeated soldiers told her that Requiem thought the Nemesis Army so weakened by her recent successes that it could be taken over!

With the Nemesis Army reeling, the prospect of Requiem taking them over and having Nemesis himself as a replacement for the imprisoned Vandal was too great. Ligress had to help the Nemesis Army by disrupting the Council's supplies and strategies. However, something seemed amiss.

Almost too late, Ligress realized she'd been used by Nemesis! He'd only played at being weak while he subverted the Council's robots and computers, and was about to take them over! She rushed back and forth and barely stopped Nemesis' plan, only to find out that she'd been deceived again! While Ligress had been fighting and the Council distracted, Nemesis had abducted Nosferatu, the Council's mad biologist and the creator of the vampyri!

Ligress moved quickly, and was able to capture Nosferatu himself from Nemesis' clutches.

According to Nosferatu's interrogation, Nemesis had kidnapped him for his knowledge of longevity techniques. According to Nosferatu, Nemesis himself was little more than a 180-year-old brain being kept alive by his armor, and now that brain was finally dying. Nosferatu's interrogation also revealed Nemesis was interested in Rikti brain altering bio-gel and Crey mind control technology. Ligress investigated the bio-gel first, only to find Rikti fighting each other. An injured Rikti who had once been a member of the Lost explained the uses of the bio-gel in the Rikti transformation process, in part because of the threat of Nemesis and in part because Ligress once saved his cousin.

She next tracked down experimental artificial brains stolen from Crey by Nemesis. Originally for use in the Revenant Hero program, Ligress found a report comparing them with Nemesis' own designs for an advanced artificial brain. Now she understood the plan. Nemesis sought to replace the one part of his body that could still die of old age: his own brain! By transferring his mind to a vastly improved artificial brain, he would be immortal.

Ligress attempted to stop the fabrication of the artificial brain, but was too late.

With only one chance left to stop Nemesis once and for all, she struck the small lab where the operation had taken place. She defeated a mindless shell that had once housed Nemesis, and then fought Nemesis himself, defeating the Prussian Prince of Automatons at last.

Or so she hoped. After all, if Nemesis wanted to fake his own death, he'd need an incontrovertible way of showing that he'd died. Ligress already seen him manipulate his enemies to do his will, and with the ability to manufacture a new brain to house his mad mind, could even physical destruction truly stop Nemesis? Only time will tell.

The Fall of the Clockwork King

Synapse the speedster recruited a group of heroes to take on the Clockwork King. The group consisted of Elite Force member Doc Curie, Izura of the Hmong Warriors, Masterman, Misty Fox, Hunter Smith and ElctroCroc. Named Task Force Lightning the group first detected an electrical anomaly in Steel Canyon. While checking it out, they found a Clockwork minion carrying an electrical power router. When they found a second power router on annother robot, Synapse sent them to Positron for advice. Positron guided the heroes to the three power grid substations in Steel Canyon, where they battled the Clockwork to prevent them from stealing the city's power. Using a device created by Positron, they were able to find the headquarters for the entire operation and shut it down.

Synapse then sent Task Force Lightning to Boomtown to search for the lair of the Clockwork King. After defeating a number of his minions, they found a distinctive mechanical piece amid the remains of one of the fallen robots. Synapse traced the piece to a storage warehouse and sent the group to investigate. After they saved the foreman from some Clockwork attackers, he told them of three locations where similar parts had been shipped.

As they investigated the warehouses, it became evident that they were closing in on the Clockwork King. Armed with determination and one of Positron's inventions, the heroes came face to face with the Clockwork King. Through their valiant efforts the King was captured.

The Rule of Three

Three heroes from three different teams took on three different villian groups for Freedom Phlanax legend Positron. Rookie hero Doc Curie of the Elite Force and vetrans Chaos Theory of Prime and Izura of the Hmong Warriors teamed up to save the city's water supply.

Positron kicked off the group's mission by sending them against the Vahzilok in an effort to uncover a poisoning plot. The team recovered some of the poison and turned it over to Positron, in the hopes that he could concoct an antidote.

Positron had two more tests for the team: to recover a working Clockwork piece, and to rescue some FEMA workers from the Circle of Thorns. The FEMA workers were being interrogated about the Paragon City Dam in faultline. They weren't much help to the Circle of Thorns, though, because the task force came in and whisked them away.

The heroes were unable to recover a working Clockwork piece, but you did secure something else, a mechanical part that was unlike anything the Clockwork have been know to use. The Clockwork defended this piece to the last Sprocket, so they assumed it was important in the Clockwork King's plans.

Positron still had a few tests for the task force. When he sent them after the Vahzilok, they recovered a blood sample from an early victim of the evil doctor's latest plot. The team turned it over to Positron for further analysis.

They also found some dam blueprints in a Clockwork den and recovered a powerful tome from the Circle of Thorns.

When they returned with the book, Numina translated it, and you learned that water and lightning augment the mystic ritual the Circle was planning to conduct.

Following up on leads, Positron sent the task force to a Vahzilok den, where they uncovered another set of dam blueprints. The team now reaslised that three major villain organisations each had designs on the Paragon City Dam. The Clockwork intend to destroy the dam, the Vahzilok plan to poison it, and the Circle wants to use it in a ritual to create great power.

While tracking down the Clockwork using a device of Positron's design, the team came upon a battle between the Clockwork and the Vahzilok. The metal men were trying to prevent the zombies from interfering with their plans.

Later, while searching for a Circle of Thorns lair, the heroes stumbled across another Clockwork attack. The Circle of Thorns seemed to have their hands full fighting off the Clockwork, but the task force learned that the mystics were planning a similar attack against the Vahzilok. They stopped both battles and prevented the carnage from spilling into the streets.

Positron's worst fears were realized. All three groups knew of each other's intentions, and they all resolved to act immediately. Positron sent the task force to protect the dam while he tried to coordinate with the Freedom Phalanx. The Phalanx was not needed, as the might and power of the task force was enough to win the day.

Clockwork King Arrested

The Clockwork King was arrested this weekend in a joint operation of the Elite Force and the Angels of Paragon. Shavaya of the Elite Force along with Angels Ligress, Mi-Lin, Captain Mi-Chan and Angelface defeated the arch villain. The mad Clockwork King imagines himself the center of a mechanical court. His powerful mind continually creates more subjects to his insane rule. The true horror is that his massive steel chassis holds a human brain.

Elite Force and Angels Formalize Coalition

Earlier this afternoon long time allies Sunstroke and Miss Kitca officially formed a coalition between their respective super groups, the Elite Force and the Angels of Paragon. The deal allowed two members of the Elite Force, Ligress and Divinity, to join the Angels. In exchange the Elite Force get access to the base of operations of the Angels including their teleporters which are invaluable to getting around Paragon City in a timely matter. The two groups also now have direct communication between members to assist each other in fighting crime whenever needed.

Task Force Nova Takes on Ruladak

Sunstroke, Miss Kitca, a theory, ElectroHawk, Greyhame, Palatial Guard and Dark Friar banded together as Task Force Nova to stop Ruladak the Strong of the Shadow Shard.

When Sara Moore asked for their help to find out who had been kidnapping natives, Task Force Nova couldn't have known that it would lead you to uncover...The Legend of Ruladak

The Heroes fought the Nemesis Army troops around the Cascade Archipelago, and found that they were under order to do just that.

They then rescued several natives who had been captured by the Nemesis Army, who were interrogating them to find out about a native legend about a monster called 'Ruladak'.

Nova liberated more captives from the Nemesis Army who were also being interrogated about the myths of Ruladak, including a man called 'Old Fred' who seemed to know more than he was telling. On their return, Sara Moore told them the myth of Ruladak, about a monster that tried to force natives to worship the Rularuu after 'the madness broke the world', but was imprisoned by kindness.

The task force next struck a Nemesis Army base, and recovered a letter to a 'General Fort' of the Nemesis army, talking about plans to awaken some sleeping power and ally with the Rularuu.

Next they learned that Old Fred, one of the oldest and wisest of the people in the Shadow Shard, had been kidnapped by the Circle of Thorns when he was looking for a book written by his father about Ruladak. They rescued him, and he told them that Ruladak was real! The Circle, however, had already taken the book back to Oranbega.

The heroes returned to Paragon City and recovered the book from Oranbega. It detailed a great deal of information about how Ruladak the Strong had been bound by the 'Kind One'.

While the book was off being analyzed, the heroes went off looking for another group of natives who had been kidnapped. They found that they had actually been taken by the Rularuu, who were interrogating the natives for what they knew of the Nemesis Army.

The worst came to pass when Task Force Nova attacked a Nemesis base and found that a Nemesis Army leader named General Fort had signed a treaty with the Rularuu to free Ruladak and ally with the creature in an attempt to sieze control of the Nemesis Army.

They then began the battle to stop the Nemesis Army from awakening Ruladak the Strong. The Nemesis Army had already gotten to the first of the 4 seals that held Ruladak imprisoned.

The group secured the second seal, which could be used by trained mystics to weaken Ruladak should he awaken. They were also able to secure the third seal, which kept Ruladak from fully re-connecting with the Rularuu.

They then went after the last seal, only to find it missing.

The heroes then battled the Nemesis Army to find the location of the 4th seal.

They recovered the seal and defeated General Fort, only to learn that Fort had been used and that Ruladak the Strong was already about to awaken.

Task Force Nova entered deep into his lair and battled Ruladak the Strong. Sara Moore could hardly contain herself, as she had just seen mythic heroes write the end chapter of the Legend of Ruladak.

Lusca Defeated - Independence Port Saved

Lusca the giant octopus threatens the waters of Independence Port. No one is certain how the beast got so large, though some have placed the blame on the polluting tendencies of Crey Technologies. Liberty Bell of the Elite Force was on hand with about thirty other heroes to take the humongous beast down.

Elite Force Embark on a MEGA Adventure

Members of Elite Force Shavaya and Sunstroke joined MEGAFORCE's call to arms and embarked on a task force for legendary hero Numina. The group was lead by Drathik of MEGAFORCE and also included heroes Judo-San, Heltende, Moradin's Fist, Vectura and Misty Meaner.

Numina, the greatest mystical heroine of our city spoke of a disturbance she had sensed somewhere in Paragon City. Her protege Infernal suggested a possible location, and there the Task Force was to free the hero Fatespinner from the Freakshow.

Still sensing something amiss, Numina locked onto a confluence of energy at a Crey facility. Traveling there records were discovered indicating that Crey had been searching for a hero designated only as 'Generation Zero'.

At somewhat of a mystical impasse, Numina contacted Manticore who pointed the team at a Nemesis facility. There they discovered a true horror. A young hero called Scout had been captured by Nemesis a generation ago and turned into one of their Warhulks. They freed him from a living death and he implored the team with his dying breath to seek the Woodsman.

With a specific target in mind Numina suggested that the task force speak to MAGI about a locating device of some kind. That lead them to recover the Shard of Kalak from the Circle of Thorns.

After attuning the Shard, Numina set the group upon an arduous path to try and locate Woodsman. The Shard tested their resolve greatly, but they managed to locate the area where Woodsman was abiding.

Following the trial, they ended up in a huge cave network where the Devouring Earth was returning the city back to nature. Within these caverns they encountered Jurassik, a huge legendary beast. Defeating this titan enabled them to gather the essence of Woodsman into the Shard, freeing him from the Devouring Earth's grasp.
